The journey of Buniayu Caving and Gunung Padang Megalith Site trip (24-25 November 2012)

A lot of stories I want to share about the trip, so many amazing wonderful things we saw..
Me and 2 more friends, Tia and Evy started the journey from Jakarta 6.15 a.m after met up at Plaza Semanggi.

I drove through Jonggol to reach Cianjur, Jonggol is my favourite place because a long the way, we can see beautiful scenery, 'wave' of mountains.
Even we stopped for a while (twice) to capture the moments in Jonggol path.. ^_^

Around 10.30 a.m with few minutes break at Yogya Cianjur, we finally arrived at Gunung Padang Megalith Site. (The largest megalith site in South East Asia)
At that time, there were so many students and teachers visited the site.
I visited the site for 3 times already but still, it amazed me.
You should visit and see by yourself then you will understand how big and awesome this place.

MYSTERIOUS, that is the right word to explain about this place.
Because until now, no one knows how, when, who build this site.
Let me explain a little bit more that I know so far from the guide.
1. The site was build in Megalith era
2. The site mostly built with Pentagonal Long shaped rock.
3. The site is surrounded by 5 mountains, I forgot the names, but one of those is Mount Gede.
4. The site has 5 level stages.
4. There is 2 long rock, they believe that as music instruments
5. There is only 1 big flat rock look like table, they believe that it was used for offering.
6. Around that site, they can't find such kind of rock, then where it came from? how they bring to the place because it is really heavy.
7. According to archeologist , they scanned the site, they found out there is empty room below. And they also said that there must be a door some where. (Awesome right?)
8. Comparing age of the rock and soils, every stage has different age. (Strange right?)
9. Actually the site is a huge monument building full with that Pentagonal Long shaped rock.

Well, maybe my word is less than vision, so let's go there and check it once again.
Maybe there is some update that we may know, because until now, all archeologist are talking and still exploring the site.

After visiting the site, we continued to Sukabumi city for culinary, lol.
Sukabumi is famous with Porridge, Egg Satay, and Mochi.
First we stopped at Eiger store for headlamp and then lunch at Mcd, haha..
why Mcd? because it was raining and the nearest place with Eiger store is Mcd.. =D

After lunch, we direct to Mochi Kaswari near Bhayangkara street, and then from parking lot, we walked to Mochi Kaswari "Lampion" store.
Tia and Evy keep testing mochis, because they have so many flavours.
From cheese to Dorian, from plain to strawberry.
Well, I like cheese at the most =D'

We bought a lot of mochis, we got 2 free small boxes mochi.
That is the secret in this store (don't forget to ask free boxes if you buy a lot)
Psss.. don't tell anyone.. ^_^v

From mochi, we continued our culinary to Egg Satay (Sate Telor) Haji Adam, in front of Kimia Farma.
We take away satay for our dinner..
20 satay of chicken and 10 satay of goat.
Yummy.. =D

After that, we continued around 1 more hour to reach homestay near the cave.
When we arrived, everyone was dying to take a bath after one whole day trip.
even the water was very cold, but it's refreshing    n_n
we just chill out after dinner and go to sleep..

Sunday morning 6 a.m, we all woke up and since I want to feel refreshing bath again, so I took the bath, haha..
With fried rice as our breakfast, we were so ready for caving..
Just pick your wear pack, boots and helmet, we all looked very cool.
Put on our head lamp, and we start to explore Horizontal cave first as a warm up before the adventurous one, Vertical Caving.
On horizontal caving, everyone can do it even 7 years old kid.
On vertical caving, you must be minimum 12 years old to join the caving, because when you enter the cave vertically, you will meet 8 difficulties that will increasingly difficult, but it was awesome.
All the details about the cave, you can read my previous blog about the trip =)
Here I give you some pictures..

Since we were 3 people with 3 guides, so we were fast, pass all the difficulties easily =)
when everyone saw the light at the exit, everyone was very happy, because we pass the difficulties.
after came out from the cave, we walk around 15 minutes to reach the waterfall (Bibijilan waterfall) for clean up.
with wonderful view of the waterfall, we cleaned up ourselves from the boot, socks, wear pack, helmet, everything as no one comes out clean from the cave.. haha..
After clean up, we still have to continue 20 minutes walk to the base.

While walking, we passed Buniwangi school, which is one of the d'travel charity project. (I will make another post about this charity project)
I am so happy that one of the project is done (Toilet project), next one is Library project.

After we reach the base, we direct to homestay for a bath, but I direct to the lunch, I was so hungry at that time.. also Evy who ate a lot.. lol
And don't forget about Tia, she was the one who take a bath first, but she ate more than us.. (Pss.. it's a secret, lol)
Funny thing is on our way back, she was still hungry, so Evy gave her some snacks..lol

Overall, I enjoyed the trip with Evy and Tia. We arrived at Jakarta around 7.30 p.m
Thank you for joining the trip.
Tia, congratulation for your first trip after few long time, right?
For Evy and Tia, please put some comments for the trip whether it's good or not, I will be grateful about your comment.

Can't hardly wait to see you guys again in next trip..

River Trekking trip on 1 December 2012

You all may have done trekking before. Now it's time to upgrade to River Trekking.
Yes, it is trekking in the river with double exercise to your legs even to your whole body.
It is a great healthy trip =)

We will trekking in the river with some beautiful waterfalls.
Name of the place is "Panjang" waterfall located in Mega Mendung area, Puncak, Bogor, Indonesia.
("Panjang" means Long)

In this trip, we will experience downstream and upstream.
Going down is easier, less energy, because we just slide and jump into 4 meters waterfall.
Going up is harder and takes around 3~4 hours.

On upstream we will meet 3 beautiful waterfalls, the last one is the best, because it is hidden waterfall.
Name of the last waterfall is "Ciblao" waterfall means Blue in Sundanese (Sunda = language of West Java)
Blue and pure colour of the river with huge 'private' pool under the waterfall.
Since the place is up on the hill, of course the temperature of the water is around 16 C (my guess)

In this trip, except day trip, they also have camping area, so we can camp and make a bonfire.

Buniayu Caving and Megalith Site trip on 24-25 November 2012

Have you done caving trip in your life?
I think most people only experienced Horizontal Caving, just simply walk and explore the cave.

In this Buniayu Caving, we will experience the real cave, horizontal and vertical caving experience.
On Buniayu area, they have more than 60 caves which connected one to another.
We will only explore 2 main cave here, for first we will warm up by doing Horizontal cave, after that we will come out and move to another place for Vertical caving.

On Vertical Caving, by using rope, we will go down to a hole about 18 meter depth, with a wonderful large cave inside. From there, we will walking down inside the cave around 2 km and reach 50 meter depth before we get out at another cave.

Inside the cave, we can see beautiful ornaments, blind living animals (spiders, crickets, fishes, shrimps, bats).
Beside that, we can see underground river and waterfall, it is just awesome trip.
This caving trip will face some small climbing, fight with the mud (or I would like to call it MUD PARTY).
I guarantee that you will experience different taste of a trip in this caving trip.
