Buniwangi School (Elementary School)
Established in the year 1970, it's a Elementary School (Sekolah Dasar) with 6 grade level
They have currently in total 193 students from 1st grade to 6th grade, with 9 teachers (5 teachers-civil officers, 4 teachers-temporary)

Since they only have 5 classrooms, so for 1st and 2nd grade, they start in different time 7.30 a.m - 10a.m
and 10a.m - 12.40p.m

Now they got fund from government to fix 4 of 6 classes, still 2 classrooms in really bad condition.

The journey of Bandung trip on 22-25 December 2012

Ho.. Ho.. HOOO...

Merry Christmas...

d'travel arrange trip to Bandung special for Sylvia and Dhananjay..
here is our story..

We started from Saturday, 22 Dec 2012.. early morning 5 a.m from Burger King Plaza Semanggi we left Jakarta. We arrived at Bandung around 7.30 a.m then took breakfast at GOR Padjajaran, one of places to have breakfast in Bandung, because they serve so many kind of breakfast.. for culinary lovers, you should go there =)

After had breakfast, we continue our first trip to Geology Museum, Bandung.
It is all about variety rocks, wood fossil and T-Rex fossil (real size)

Wiwi - hobbit - being chased by T-Rex

You will love this place because they have a lot of information about volcanoes, fossil, world history, gold, meteorite, human history even small people from Flores who they called as Hobbit.

Around 11 p.m we finished our tour in Geology Museum in Bandung, then we chill out with a glass of yogurt at Cisangkuy Street (one of famous place to have yogurt), then we had our lunch at Bancakan restaurant (Sundanese Restaurant)

After lunch, we had our stop at Supermarket to buy drink but Dhananjay bought GASING (local children game) and I bought blowing balloon =)
We continued to our next schedule which is Angklung Udjo, the famous place to know, learn and play Angklung.
While we are waiting for the show which start at 3.30 p.m (ticket purchasing from 2.30 p.m), I taught Sylvia how to play CONGKLAK (local children game), but you know what? I got beaten 3 times by Sylvia..
And almost all visitors watched us played (but I finally won when we played at my sister's place ^_^)
We enjoyed 2,5 hours show in Angklung Udjo where we watched Wayang, dance, Angklung Mini, Angklung Orchestra, and of course we all played Angklung

Sylvia with her Angklung
All the Angklung students play some music

The rain showered at that time and quite a long time until we have to cancel our next destination to Caringin Tilu, a place where we can see Bandung city 180degree plus you can see Papandayan crater if sky is clear.
So, we direct to have dinner at Chinese restaurant and head back to my sister place.

Sunday, 23 Dec 2012 (day 2)
On our day 2, we have Tangkuban Perahu and Domas Crater on our schedule.
So we grabbed "Nasi Kuning" as our breakfast then drive to Tangkuban Perahu.

Dhananjay enjoyed taking pictures
At Tangkuban Perahu, we walk to the end of the road, enter small cave up there, and then we head back to have corn, hot coffee.
Here is video of Tangkuban Perahu

When we head back to the car to go to Domas Crater, we stopped at souvenir shops, funny story was Dhananjay forgot his wallet, so he had to borrow money from Sylvia quite a lot amount to buy so many things there.
When we were at Tangkuban Perahu, we had no rain at all, except to Domas Crater, but we were well prepared with umbrella  =D

Sylvia enjoyed small hotspring =)
We boiled egg at Domas Crater, enjoyed the view and of course another souvenir shops.

After we've done with Domas Crater, we walked back to the car (FYI, from parking to Domas Crater needed 45 minutes walk)
We have our lunch at Sindang Reret Restaurant (another Sundanese Restaurant with small hut around the restaurant). It's a nice place to have lunch.
And then, we drove back to Bandung for Christmas Celebration at GBI Arjuna church.
We all enjoyed our church moment there with VIP seat, lol  =)

Monday, 24 December 2012 (Day-3)
For our plan A, we want to go to Papandayan Crater, but since Rancaekek was flooded, so we changed to Plan B (White Crater a.k.a Kawah Putih)

Sylvia with the crater

Dhananjay with the crater
Wiwi with the crater

I run to the wrong way..  x_x"
We enjoyed Kawah Putih until the rain broke all the crowds, haha..
So, me and wiwi ran back to the car since we left our umbrella inside the car.. haha
cos we thought it's a sunny day.. but we never knew it, right?

From Kawah Putih, we stopped at Walini hot spring to have lunch.
For first, we planned to swim at the hot spring but it's too crowded.. =(
We went back to Bandung..in between we stopped for Strawberry Garden, but it wasn't our lucky time since all there is no strawberry except green colour ones.
Surprisingly, Sylvia like the green ones (psst.. she ate a lot of them for free) LOL..

Around 4 p.m we arrived at my sister's place to take a bath, and get ready for Christmas Eve Dinner at Coco Rico Cafe and Resto (Dago Atas Area)
View from Coco Rico restaurant (sunset view)
Christmas Eve Dinner 'Family'
Didi - Dhananjay - Ronny(my bro in law)
Sylvia - Yuli - Feny(my sis) - Wiwi
Well, we ended our Day -3 perfectly with Christmas Eve Dinner, and that was not finished yet, because we continued to Rasa Ice Cream store.. very nice Ice Cream store =)
We had rain in the afternoon, but at night, it's just clear sky so we can enjoy Bandung view..
God is good.. right? =)

Tuesday, 25 December 2012 (day-4)
we woke up 8 a.m then slowly enjoy the morning before we 'check out' from my sister's place.
around 9.30 a.m we leave Bandung, but before that.. don't forget to buy presents (oleh-oleh) at Kartika Sari =)
We arrived at Jakarta around 12 p.m.. then we had our lunch at Vegetus Restaurant Pluit.. very nice vegetarian restaurant to have veggies and fake meat =D

That is our Journey to Bandung trip from d'travel..
I hope Sylvia and Dhananjay enjoyed the whole trip ^_^

Let's go to Bandung again.. =)

Merry Christ in you and Happy New You,

Didi

The journey of Buniayu Caving and Gunung Padang Megalith Site trip (24-25 November 2012)

A lot of stories I want to share about the trip, so many amazing wonderful things we saw..
Me and 2 more friends, Tia and Evy started the journey from Jakarta 6.15 a.m after met up at Plaza Semanggi.

I drove through Jonggol to reach Cianjur, Jonggol is my favourite place because a long the way, we can see beautiful scenery, 'wave' of mountains.
Even we stopped for a while (twice) to capture the moments in Jonggol path.. ^_^

Around 10.30 a.m with few minutes break at Yogya Cianjur, we finally arrived at Gunung Padang Megalith Site. (The largest megalith site in South East Asia)
At that time, there were so many students and teachers visited the site.
I visited the site for 3 times already but still, it amazed me.
You should visit and see by yourself then you will understand how big and awesome this place.

MYSTERIOUS, that is the right word to explain about this place.
Because until now, no one knows how, when, who build this site.
Let me explain a little bit more that I know so far from the guide.
1. The site was build in Megalith era
2. The site mostly built with Pentagonal Long shaped rock.
3. The site is surrounded by 5 mountains, I forgot the names, but one of those is Mount Gede.
4. The site has 5 level stages.
4. There is 2 long rock, they believe that as music instruments
5. There is only 1 big flat rock look like table, they believe that it was used for offering.
6. Around that site, they can't find such kind of rock, then where it came from? how they bring to the place because it is really heavy.
7. According to archeologist , they scanned the site, they found out there is empty room below. And they also said that there must be a door some where. (Awesome right?)
8. Comparing age of the rock and soils, every stage has different age. (Strange right?)
9. Actually the site is a huge monument building full with that Pentagonal Long shaped rock.

Well, maybe my word is less than vision, so let's go there and check it once again.
Maybe there is some update that we may know, because until now, all archeologist are talking and still exploring the site.

After visiting the site, we continued to Sukabumi city for culinary, lol.
Sukabumi is famous with Porridge, Egg Satay, and Mochi.
First we stopped at Eiger store for headlamp and then lunch at Mcd, haha..
why Mcd? because it was raining and the nearest place with Eiger store is Mcd.. =D

After lunch, we direct to Mochi Kaswari near Bhayangkara street, and then from parking lot, we walked to Mochi Kaswari "Lampion" store.
Tia and Evy keep testing mochis, because they have so many flavours.
From cheese to Dorian, from plain to strawberry.
Well, I like cheese at the most =D'

We bought a lot of mochis, we got 2 free small boxes mochi.
That is the secret in this store (don't forget to ask free boxes if you buy a lot)
Psss.. don't tell anyone.. ^_^v

From mochi, we continued our culinary to Egg Satay (Sate Telor) Haji Adam, in front of Kimia Farma.
We take away satay for our dinner..
20 satay of chicken and 10 satay of goat.
Yummy.. =D

After that, we continued around 1 more hour to reach homestay near the cave.
When we arrived, everyone was dying to take a bath after one whole day trip.
even the water was very cold, but it's refreshing    n_n
we just chill out after dinner and go to sleep..

Sunday morning 6 a.m, we all woke up and since I want to feel refreshing bath again, so I took the bath, haha..
With fried rice as our breakfast, we were so ready for caving..
Just pick your wear pack, boots and helmet, we all looked very cool.
Put on our head lamp, and we start to explore Horizontal cave first as a warm up before the adventurous one, Vertical Caving.
On horizontal caving, everyone can do it even 7 years old kid.
On vertical caving, you must be minimum 12 years old to join the caving, because when you enter the cave vertically, you will meet 8 difficulties that will increasingly difficult, but it was awesome.
All the details about the cave, you can read my previous blog about the trip =)
Here I give you some pictures..

Since we were 3 people with 3 guides, so we were fast, pass all the difficulties easily =)
when everyone saw the light at the exit, everyone was very happy, because we pass the difficulties.
after came out from the cave, we walk around 15 minutes to reach the waterfall (Bibijilan waterfall) for clean up.
with wonderful view of the waterfall, we cleaned up ourselves from the boot, socks, wear pack, helmet, everything as no one comes out clean from the cave.. haha..
After clean up, we still have to continue 20 minutes walk to the base.

While walking, we passed Buniwangi school, which is one of the d'travel charity project. (I will make another post about this charity project)
I am so happy that one of the project is done (Toilet project), next one is Library project.

After we reach the base, we direct to homestay for a bath, but I direct to the lunch, I was so hungry at that time.. also Evy who ate a lot.. lol
And don't forget about Tia, she was the one who take a bath first, but she ate more than us.. (Pss.. it's a secret, lol)
Funny thing is on our way back, she was still hungry, so Evy gave her some snacks..lol

Overall, I enjoyed the trip with Evy and Tia. We arrived at Jakarta around 7.30 p.m
Thank you for joining the trip.
Tia, congratulation for your first trip after few long time, right?
For Evy and Tia, please put some comments for the trip whether it's good or not, I will be grateful about your comment.

Can't hardly wait to see you guys again in next trip..
